Deciding to rebelliously drop the “Y” in Yaz, she kept the “az”–added “is” and became Azis as we know her today. Azis (pron. as is), appears cocky on the mic and in her photos, but has every right to be. Representing Jersey, Azis totes that bossy, confident demeanor that can be heard through her music, and felt whenever she blesses a stage. Melodic flows fused with catchy hooks, best describes an Azis track. With recent smash hit “Rent To Own,” Azis’ talent has taken her to new heights. Gaining music credentials from the Netflix original film, Deuces, (starring Megan Good, Lorenz Tate, and Lance Gross to say the least), Azis has proven that her craft is not one to be taken lightly. Also appearing in Alicia Key’s short film “The Gospel” (Chapter 2 more specifically), Azis’ role isn’t one that dampers who she is–in fact she couldn’t shine through any brighter.
